It’s #ThrowbackThursday in the blogosphere and for today’s #tbt feature we are traveling back through time to the 2013 New York City Wine and Food Festival (#NYCWFF).
The Food Network puts on two major wine and food festivals every year; one in New York City and one in South Beach. Year after year, thousands of foodies from all over the world travel to take a bite out of what the Wine and Food Festival’s are serving up. There are numerous events going on throughout the festival at any given time and while they’re all downright delicious, the Burger Bash is always a foodie favorite.
When it comes to meat, Pat LaFrieda Meat Purveyors delivers the cream (or should I say meat?) of the crop. LaFrieda’s meats are synonymous with quality, so it only makes sense that they would sponsor the Burger Bash. Last year Far Out Awards was honored with the task of making a custom trophy for Pat La Frieda Meats to present to the winner of the NYCWFF Burger Bash. We only wish they requested us to hand deliver it and stay for a burger or two.
The judge’s favorite and the winner of the esteemed Burger Bash Champion Far Out Award went to chef Paul Denamiel of Le Rivage, a traditional French restaurant located in New York’s historic “Restaurant Row.” Chef Denamiel cooked up a French Onion Soup Burger that packed flavor we can only imagine in our dreams (including day dreams, because that is exactly what I am doing right now).
In honor of this Throwback Thursday, we re-congratulate Chef Denamiel on his meaty victory. Unfortunately Chef, we must also prepare to pass the torch to the next victor as Next Friday the Burger Bash is taking its talents to South Beach! That’s right, the 13th annual South Beach Wine and Food Festival (#SOBEWFF) is taking place from February 20th-23rd, and once again Pat LaFrieda is hosting the esteemed Burger Bash.
The Far Out Award for this year’s lucky winner has already been made and waits in anticipation to be claimed. We will keep you posted with the juicy details as soon as we find out.
